Practical timer guides

Choose a timer workflow, plan a focus session, rehearse a presentation, or troubleshoot an alarm.

Start with the job

Use a countdown when you already know the time you want to allocate. Use the stopwatch when you want to find out how long something takes. Use Pomodoro when alternating a defined focus session and a deliberate break helps structure your work. The tool does not choose the task or start the next phase for you.

What these guides cover

The timer guide explains controls, recovery and sharing. Pomodoro covers task size and manual breaks; the study guide distinguishes learning, review and test practice. Presentations use rehearsal readings to revise a plan. The cooking guide follows the recipe’s starting events. Alarm help separates audio, background execution and power settings.

Each workflow includes an example you can adjust. A five-minute break or a twenty-five-minute focus session is a starting point, not a rule that suits every person or every task.

Check before relying on sound

Try the sound test, keep the timer tab open and check the device’s volume and output. A correct countdown reading does not guarantee a prompt sound in a background tab or while a device is locked. Use an independent alarm for a reminder that must not be missed.
