Ten minutes for one tidy-up area
Choose one desk, drawer or shelf. A narrow boundary prevents a quick tidy from spreading across the room. Prepare a place for items that belong elsewhere, then work on the selected area without walking away for every object.
When the timer ends, leave the area usable and decide separately whether another round is needed. Add a minute only for a clear finishing step. A shared link provides the same ten-minute duration, not the same end time; agree on a starting signal and keep private labels in your own browser.
- 2 minutes: sort what belongs here, elsewhere or in disposal.
- 6 minutes: clear and arrange the selected area.
- 2 minutes: return needed items and leave a usable surface.
Review a document from the reader’s side
Pick one short document, such as an event notice or a project update. Read it as someone who has not attended the earlier discussion. Look for the purpose, the action expected from the reader, and any date or contact they need.
Mark missing information before polishing sentences. For an event notice, a clear location may matter more than a nicer opening line. Keep the review to this document rather than following every related link.
- Can the reader tell what this is for?
- Is the requested action explicit?
- Are names, dates and next steps consistent?
Finish with a usable review note
When the countdown ends, separate changes you can make from questions that need the author’s answer. Save a brief note identifying the unclear passage and the information needed. A list of specific questions is useful even if the document cannot yet be finalized.
If the document is longer than expected, define a smaller section for the next pass or choose more time. Changing the duration sets up a new countdown, so record your stopping point before you change it.

Frequently asked questions
Will the timer work in another tab?
The display calculates remaining time from an end time, so it can catch up after you switch tabs. Reload recovery also needs valid saved state and available browser storage. Background sounds may be delayed. Keep the tab open and device awake when the alarm matters.
Will it ring when my phone is locked?
A browser cannot guarantee an alarm while the device is asleep, locked or the tab is closed. Keep your device awake and test the sound. Use your device’s alarm for critical reminders.
How do I use the Pomodoro timer?
Choose Pomodoro for a 25-minute focus session. Then manually start a 5-minute break, or choose a 15-minute long break. The next session never starts without you.
Is this timer free, and do I need an account?
It is free and needs no account. Your timer and theme are stored in this browser when storage is available. Nothing you type into the session label is sent to a server.
Can I share a timer?
Yes. Share copies a link with your chosen duration and mode. Opening it sets up the same timer; it does not synchronize clocks or share your private session label.
