Quick set

Keep this tab open and your device awake. Test the sound before relying on an alarm.

One hour for a defined work block

Use an hour for a prepared task, such as analysing one dataset or building one small feature. Name the deliverable and keep materials close. The timer should not prevent a needed pause or comfortable posture change.

Leave room for checking and a handoff note rather than working until the last second. Share the setting for parallel work, then agree how each person starts; clocks are not synchronized and labels remain private. Test sound and use an independent reminder if the end must not be missed.

  • 5 minutes: select the outcome and open the inputs.
  • 40 minutes: do the main work.
  • 10 minutes: check the result against the outcome.
  • 5 minutes: save and record what comes next.

Organize one batch of digital files

Choose a defined batch, such as photos from one trip or files for one finished project. Decide on the destination and naming rule before starting. Work on that batch rather than reorganizing the entire device.

Keep originals available until you have checked the result. Try the rule on a few files first and open them from the destination. A filename that looks organized does not by itself show that the right file was copied or that every file can still be opened.

End at a traceable boundary

When the timer finishes, stop at a folder or another clear boundary. Note which files were checked and where the next batch starts. Before closing, open a few representative files and confirm where the originals and organized copies remain.

If an hour feels too broad, work on a smaller batch with a thirty-minute countdown. You can also pause while resolving an unclear file. Do not delete uncertain items simply to finish within the time limit.

Guides

Frequently asked questions

Will the timer work in another tab?

The display calculates remaining time from an end time, so it can catch up after you switch tabs. Reload recovery also needs valid saved state and available browser storage. Background sounds may be delayed. Keep the tab open and device awake when the alarm matters.

Will it ring when my phone is locked?

A browser cannot guarantee an alarm while the device is asleep, locked or the tab is closed. Keep your device awake and test the sound. Use your device’s alarm for critical reminders.

How do I use the Pomodoro timer?

Choose Pomodoro for a 25-minute focus session. Then manually start a 5-minute break, or choose a 15-minute long break. The next session never starts without you.

Is this timer free, and do I need an account?

It is free and needs no account. Your timer and theme are stored in this browser when storage is available. Nothing you type into the session label is sent to a server.

Can I share a timer?

Yes. Share copies a link with your chosen duration and mode. Opening it sets up the same timer; it does not synchronize clocks or share your private session label.
