Your laps
Twenty-five minutes for one draft section
Choose a section with a clear question and gather its source material before starting. Separating drafting from detailed editing helps avoid spending the whole period polishing the first sentence. The goal is a usable next version, not a mandatory word count.
You can use this countdown directly or select Pomodoro for a focus session and a manual break afterward. Neither option starts an automatic sequence. A shared link sends the duration and selected mode, plus Pomodoro phase when applicable; collaborators still choose their own start, and your private label is omitted.
- 3 minutes: outline the argument and supporting points.
- 17 minutes: draft the section without revising every sentence.
- 5 minutes: review gaps and leave the next revision step.
Investigate one spreadsheet discrepancy
Use this block for a specific question, such as why a total differs from the expected value. Work in a copy or keep the original available. Choose one affected row or formula and compare its input, formula and output with a working example.
Record each check so you do not repeat the same attempt. The timer only measures your investigation; it does not inspect cells or verify calculations. Avoid changing several formulas at once, which makes the source of the difference harder to identify.
Keep findings even if the issue remains
When time is up, save the example, what you expected, what happened and the checks you tried. If you found a correction, check the affected result and other rows that use the same formula before replacing the working file.
If no cause is clear, make the next investigation narrower or ask for help using the recorded example. One more minute may suit saving a note; it is unlikely to fit a new round of investigation. Choose another block deliberately instead.

Frequently asked questions
Will the timer work in another tab?
The display calculates remaining time from an end time, so it can catch up after you switch tabs. Reload recovery also needs valid saved state and available browser storage. Background sounds may be delayed. Keep the tab open and device awake when the alarm matters.
Will it ring when my phone is locked?
A browser cannot guarantee an alarm while the device is asleep, locked or the tab is closed. Keep your device awake and test the sound. Use your device’s alarm for critical reminders.
How do I use the Pomodoro timer?
Choose Pomodoro for a 25-minute focus session. Then manually start a 5-minute break, or choose a 15-minute long break. The next session never starts without you.
Is this timer free, and do I need an account?
It is free and needs no account. Your timer and theme are stored in this browser when storage is available. Nothing you type into the session label is sent to a server.
Can I share a timer?
Yes. Share copies a link with your chosen duration and mode. Opening it sets up the same timer; it does not synchronize clocks or share your private session label.
