Three minutes for a tea check
A three-minute countdown can mark a tea check when the tea’s instructions suit that duration. Read the package first: tea type, water temperature and quantity change the recommended steep. Start after pouring, and check the result rather than treating three minutes as a universal brewing rule.
Keep hot water on a stable surface and use an independent reminder if missing the alert matters. Sharing sends a fresh three-minute setting, not your current progress or private label. Anyone joining should start after their own pour.
- Before starting: check the tea’s directions and prepare the cup.
- During the countdown: leave the tea to steep as directed.
- At zero: check taste and remove the tea if appropriate.
Compare two appointment times
Use three minutes to choose between two proposed times when your calendar and the invitation are already open. Check the date, time zone, travel or preparation time, and any appointment immediately before or after it. The countdown is only a prompt to finish checking; it does not read your calendar.
If both options work, choose one and write the reply yourself. If neither works, suggest an alternative. Missing a time zone or another person’s availability is a reason to ask a question, rather than make a rushed choice.
- Check the whole time slot, not just its start.
- Include any preparation or travel you actually need.
- Leave the final choice in your own calendar or message.
Use the alarm as a decision checkpoint
When the timer ends, distinguish a decision from an unresolved question. Write down the missing detail and who can answer it. You can stop the comparison at that point without pretending it is finished.
If you need to open several calendars or compare many alternatives, use a longer period. Reset returns to the full three minutes; press Start to begin again. Pause keeps the remaining time while you deal with an interruption.

Frequently asked questions
Will the timer work in another tab?
The display calculates remaining time from an end time, so it can catch up after you switch tabs. Reload recovery also needs valid saved state and available browser storage. Background sounds may be delayed. Keep the tab open and device awake when the alarm matters.
Will it ring when my phone is locked?
A browser cannot guarantee an alarm while the device is asleep, locked or the tab is closed. Keep your device awake and test the sound. Use your device’s alarm for critical reminders.
How do I use the Pomodoro timer?
Choose Pomodoro for a 25-minute focus session. Then manually start a 5-minute break, or choose a 15-minute long break. The next session never starts without you.
Is this timer free, and do I need an account?
It is free and needs no account. Your timer and theme are stored in this browser when storage is available. Nothing you type into the session label is sent to a server.
Can I share a timer?
Yes. Share copies a link with your chosen duration and mode. Opening it sets up the same timer; it does not synchronize clocks or share your private session label.
