Quick set

Keep this tab open and your device awake. Test the sound before relying on an alarm.

Five minutes away from the screen

A short screen break is easier to protect when you decide what it is for. Pause the working task, leave a return note and use the interval for a change of posture or view, within your own comfort. Opening another feed can make the break less distinct from the work.

The four parts below total five minutes; the app sounds only at the end. Share the duration if a team takes a break together, but agree on the start separately. Personal notes stay out of the link.

  • 1 minute: save the work and step away.
  • 90 seconds: move gently if comfortable.
  • 90 seconds: look away from the working screen.
  • 1 minute: return and read the next-step note.

Reply to one straightforward message

Choose a message whose answer you already know, such as confirming receipt or stating when you can send a document. Keep the relevant file or calendar nearby. Write the answer first, then add only the context the recipient needs.

Before sending, check the recipient, the date and any promised attachment. Those checks belong in your mail application; this timer neither reads nor sends messages. Stop early if the reply is ready, rather than expanding it to fill five minutes.

Recognize when a quick reply becomes research

If the answer needs an estimate, approval or a document you cannot find, identify that dependency instead of guessing. Leave a draft or send an accurate acknowledgment if appropriate. The next action might be asking a colleague, not extending the timer.

At zero, decide whether to send, keep a draft or schedule a separate task. A short countdown is useful for limiting a known reply; it is a poor substitute for checking unfamiliar facts.

Guides

Frequently asked questions

Will the timer work in another tab?

The display calculates remaining time from an end time, so it can catch up after you switch tabs. Reload recovery also needs valid saved state and available browser storage. Background sounds may be delayed. Keep the tab open and device awake when the alarm matters.

Will it ring when my phone is locked?

A browser cannot guarantee an alarm while the device is asleep, locked or the tab is closed. Keep your device awake and test the sound. Use your device’s alarm for critical reminders.

How do I use the Pomodoro timer?

Choose Pomodoro for a 25-minute focus session. Then manually start a 5-minute break, or choose a 15-minute long break. The next session never starts without you.

Is this timer free, and do I need an account?

It is free and needs no account. Your timer and theme are stored in this browser when storage is available. Nothing you type into the session label is sent to a server.

Can I share a timer?

Yes. Share copies a link with your chosen duration and mode. Opening it sets up the same timer; it does not synchronize clocks or share your private session label.
